As of April 16, 2020, there isn’t a single nine anywhere to be found in our latest uptime stat! While most organizations would cringe at that statement, we’re pretty proud of it. Why? Because today, ExtremeCloud IQ has met an operational state of 100% uptime for the last calendar year!
Achieving a feat like this is not easy. It involves the talents of literally dozens of people, from the developers that write the code to our amazing engineers on our cloud operations team that work around the clock. It takes the skills of everyone working together to achieve a goal like this.
As we move forward in 2020 and beyond, we’re expanding our operations on Microsoft Azure, Google GCP, and additional nodes on AWS. We’re bringing in new and exciting features, integrating with existing Extreme switches and equipment, and doing it all without interrupting your service on an unscheduled basis.
In my next blog, we’ll talk about some other things we’re doing architecturally to limit or eliminate scheduled downtime for updates. It’s going to be worth the wait, so stay tuned!
