As we enter the second half of FY19, we’re more focused than ever on delivering customer-driven networking solutions that drive business value and competitive advantage. To do so, we’re forging closer and more meaningful ties to our partners, we’re bringing innovative technology to market, and we’re adding top-level talent to steer the ship!
In late October, we welcomed Indrajit Roy to the Extreme family as Vice President of Product Management to lead our software practice, which includes cloud and applications. And in early December, we welcomed Abby Strong as Vice President of Product Marketing, to lead the team that defines the market strategy and vision for our solutions portfolios, and Devin Akin as the Director of Sales Enablement, responsible for evangelism, Wi-Fi training, major accounts and strategic business development initiatives for Extreme.
Indrajit comes to Extreme from F5 Networks, where he oversaw $1B+ of products and cloud solutions aimed at enterprise, public sector, and service provider customers, and grew the company’s software business. Prior to that, he founded multiple startups focused on cloud-based analytics and PaaS for application-to-application integration. Earlier in his career, Indrajit held positions in engineering, product management, and business unit leadership across Cisco’s Switching, Optical Networking, and Application Services / Cloud Services groups.
Abby joins Extreme from Aerohive Networks where she led product management and marketing, and was focused on cloud architecture, security, and networking solutions. Prior to that, Abby helped to build and support network security and routing products at companies including Concentric, XO Communications, and Juniper Networks.
Prior to Extreme, Devin served as CTO and co-founder of The CWNP Program, Chief Wi-Fi Architect and Evangelist at Aerohive Networks and Mojo Networks, and Principal Wi-Fi Architect and Founder of Divergent Dynamics and is CWNE #1.
We are thrilled that Indrajit, Abby, and Devin have joined the Company, and we are looking forward to their input and guidance as we continue building the “New” Extreme.
The energy and conviction I sensed from the executive leadership team towards transitioning Extreme to exploding new opportunities in software-led businesses like Cloud, Applications and SaaS was palpable. The breadth of product portfolio and the customer segments currently served by Extreme make it uniquely positioned to be able to win in the cloud space.
Meet Indrajit Roy
Extreme’s portfolio is unmatched in the industry and it doesn’t seem like a lot of folks outside the company know it. Every time I turn around there is something new and awesome to discover! We’ve got an opportunity to make a big difference. I want to WIN!
Meet Abby Strong
Extreme’s PLM team. They listen to the field teams, partners, and customers. While no PLM team can do everything at one time, the team is smart, they really understand the technologies and products they are building, they have years of experience in the industry, and they want to win just as badly as everyone else. After many years of working for and with manufacturers, I’ve come to really appreciate a PLM team like that.
Meet Devin Akin
2019 is going to be a big year for Extreme!
